Torah Study

The Torah Study Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month from October through May, from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the home of one of our Temple members.

Everyone takes a turn bringing the bagels. The group now numbers about 12. None of us are experts and the approach we take is like that of any other book club. The text we use is The Jewish Study Bible (in English) published by The Jewish Publication Society. We read aloud a few paragraphs and then open the floor for discussion. The talk is spirited, passionate, often humorous and sometimes irreverent.

The group has been running for several years, and it has become an activity that all of us cherish. As we discuss the book, we often reveal personal stories that have deepened our understanding of the text and each other.
